Business Leaders Forum: Director Foong
Wai Fong and Prof Ling Dexiang presented a 3-hour forum
to business leaders from 3 races in Kuala Terengganu,
Malaysia's dominant Muslim state. The event was led by
the Terengganu Chinese Chamber of Commerce ( TCCC) and
jointly organized by the Malay Chamber of Commerce and
Indian Chamber of Commerce. The panel of speakers had
an engaging forum with many participants who shared their
insights on the future of China. The Chairman of TCCC
has inidicated its interest to set up a Confucius Classroom
in TCCC to help business leaders in Kuala Terengganu to
learn Hanyu and also conduct programs on Contemporary
China happenings.

Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin(UniSZA)-Confucius
Institute@Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global Hanyu &
Culture Center's (SJTU-GHCC) China Week in Kuala Terengganu:
UniSZA-SJTU-GHCC opened the China week at the
Gong Badok Campus of UniSZA on July 25th. The event was
enthusiastically attended by graduants and students of
UniSZA and members of the public and students from the
neighborhood schools. In addiiton to an exhibition of
200 books and multi media material, various types of Chinese
Cultural Events were held; included are Jiaozi making,
caligraphy, painting of Beijing Opera faces and paper
cutting. Students participated in these activities enthusiastically;
over 1000 graduants and UniSZA's 4200 students took turns
to attend the exhibition which was held in conjunction
with the 2010 Convoation of UniSZA. The King of Malaysia
was at the Convocation to witness the installation of
the Queen of Malaysia as the Chancellor of the University.
The Chairman of the Management Board, Vice Chancellor
and senior managemnet of UniSZA later attened a performance
by UniSZA students. 20 students who are currently taking
Chinese program at UniSZA presented two Chinese songs
to the audience. These students have only learnt the songs
for 2 days. UniSZA has some 400 students taking Chinese
as elective. The University has two Chinese teachers from
China's muslim province of Qinghai and Ningxia. The exhibitionmaterials
were presented as a gift to help UniSZA start its Chinese
Langauge and Culture Resource Center.

9th Sports Carnival @ Sunway Lagoon, July 3
2010
Some 700 students, parents, grandparents, staff members
of Peter & Jane had great fun at the 9th Sports Carnival
at the Sunway Lagoon Report today. Participants helped
themselves to a w Wide range of matches and games; making
the sand castle; tele matches; and most of all, shake
hands with our Panda Mascot! The Panda proves to be a
favorite with both Adults and Children! Global Hanyu will
be setting up a Mandarin Panda Confucius Classroom in
partnership with Peter & Jane Kindergarten. P &
J has 5 Center in Klang Valley and has a very large Mandarin
program for 6 year olds.  |

A visit to UDM, Kuala Terengganu
Director Foong Wai Fong visited Universiti Darul Iman
in Kuala Terengganu on March 30, 2010 for dialogue with
the University's senior Management. Vice Chancellor Prof
Datuk Elyas hosted the Global Hanyu Malaysia's visit.
Ms Foong also gave a speech to some 300 students and faculty
on the subject, "China & Asia Rising: Opportunities
for Malaysians".
UDM's faculty of language offers Mandarin as an elective;
some 300 students take up Mandarin at the University;
using textbook donated by Global Hanyu Malaysia (Great
Wall Chinese). Online study accounts will also be given
away to the students, Free of Charge from the Confucius
Institute @ Shanghai Jiaotong University & Global
Hanyu & Culture Center to help them accelerate their
learning.

Baby Panda Mandarin Pilot Classes (3, 4 April
2010)
Global Hanyu Malaysia launched pilot sessions for Baby
Panda Mandarin Sessions. Some 12 students signed up for
the pilot sessions that will run over 3 weekends, starting
from 3rd April. The 4, 5, 6 years old were all very enthusiastic;
listening to them read out aloud and sing the Chinese
characters were very entertaining; it is amazing how children
could learn language in such a short time. In each session,
a set of 16 characters will be taught.

Chinese Dumpling (Jiaozi) Making for SKEMA (French)
Students in Suzhou
On 30 March 2010, French SKEMA students studying in Suzhou,
China learnt how to make Jiaozi, known as Chinese dumpling,
guided by experienced teachers and faculty. Students learnt
how to wrap Jiaozi with several ingredients consists of
ground meat and/or vegetable filling. Such filling will
be wrapped into a thinly rolled piece of dough, which
is then sealed by pressing the edges together or by crimping.
The group had a great time learning how to make Jiaozi
in a proper way.

Jan 27-29, 2010, for 3 days at the
Grand Hall of ChungHwa Independent School, Confucius Institute@Shanghai
Jiaotong University-Global Hanyu & Culture Center
presented the above exhibition. Some 6000 students, faculty
and parents attended the 3 day fair. Our teachers Changxin
and Dongning presented a session on "China Now"
to some 400 Senior Middle 3 students.  |

KUALA LUMPUR, 2010: The Confucius Institute@Shanghai
Jiaotong University& Global Hanyu and Culture Center
presented the Nihao Malaixiya Launching Fair at The Star
Edu-cation Fair 2010. We have chosen this fair because
this is the leading fair in Malaysia where English and
other non-Chinese speaking crowd will attend. This year,
the fair is reported to be bigger and better than any
of the previous fairs over the past 22 years held by the
Star newspaper, the leading English daily in Malaysia
with over a million readership. .As the biggest education
fair in Malaysia and one of the largest in Asia, .All
five halls in the KL Convention Centre had to be booked
for the first time, as 161 exhibitors took up 510 booths.

September 21 - December 16, 2009, French
CERAM students study in China. 46 students from France's
CERAM Business School will spend 12 weeks immersion program
with SJTU-GHCC in Suzhou beginning from Sept 21 to Dec
16. These students will study Chinese language and culture
and will also be following the Great Wall Chinese Online.
Hanban has supported this program by giving each and everyone
of these students a free one year account.  |

43 Executives from SunWay Corporation; Malaysia's leading
real estate and Hospitality Company will begin Mandarin
classes with SJTU-GHCC from October 1st. These executives
come from various subsidiaries of the Sunway Group. The
Group is active in developing its China Business. SJTU-GHCC
has prepared a special program incorporating Business
Hanyu together with online learning to assist these students.
This pioneer group will also receive a free online account
for
“Great Wall Chinese” effective for one year.

May 31, 2009,The Confucius Institute
Malaysia @ Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global Hanyu &
Culture Center conducted the first New HSK Test on May
31 2009 from 10am to 12 noon. A total of 70 students participated
in the Level 1 ( 27) and Level 2 ( 43) HSK Test. These
70 students comprises Malaysians, Koreans, Swiss, Indonesian
and French. The test was held at the Conference Room on
the 4F of Jaya 33 Office in Petaling Jaya, in the same
building where the Center is located. Students were enthusiastic,
majority arrived early, all were punctual; the test progressed
well. Students are enthusiastic to know their progress
and enquired to participate in tests for advanced levels.
95% of the particpants are students with the SJTU-GHCC.
The test results will be sent to Beijing for Marking and
students will know their results by end of June 2009.

February 15, 2009, Two of our senior
teachers, Changxin and Liying started a 10 weeks teaching
to 79 students from the CERAM Business School in Suzhou
from February 16 2009.
Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global Hanyu Center is the
designated Hanyu provider for the GIST-CERAM International
Academic Exchange Program in Suzhou.
The CERAM Business School, a renowned business school
from Southern France, has set up the CERAM CHINA CENTER,
a partnership with the Global Institute of Software Engineering
(GIST), French students will spend 10 weeks in China in
an immersion program while completing their required credit
for their Master of Science program.

8.08.8th August 2008: At the peak of the night,
some 500 people gathered at the lobby of Jaya 33 where
the Shanghai Jiao tong University-Global Hanyu Center
is located. Members of the public, students, staffs, tenants
of the complex of various ethnic origins had a great time
celebrating the opening of the Beijing Olympics. The crowd
cheered and engaged themselves as the performance unfolds
in the national stadium in Beijing.
The event was organized by Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global
Hanyu & Culture Center in partnership with the Management
of Jaya 33 and Pahlawan Volunteers. The food outlets in
the Complex; Italian Kitchen, Vietnamese Kitchen and Jaya
Grocer Bakery all served complimentary food to the attendees.
The Official sponsor of the games, Coca Cola provided
free drinks for the evening. The crowd was enthusiastic
and watched the entire opening ceremony that went from
8pm to midnight.
Earlier a complimentary Hanyu lesson was held at the Center
for those who are interested. A total of 28 Chinese characters
related to the Olympics were taught by Chang Xin Laoshi.

May 16, 2008, Radio Television Malaysia
(RTM) in a lead to set the new standard for Mandarin for
the Country is working with Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global
Hanyu & Culture Center (SJTU-GHCC) to provide comprehensive
training to all its broadcasters and editors in the Mandarin
Section to make the transition to Standard Putonghua.
Second batch training was held from 14 April 2008 to 16
May 2008 at Institute Penyiaran Tun Abdul Razak (IPTAR).
This second training was conduct by Associate Professor
Dr Hu Jian Jun from Shanghai Jiaotong University. This
six weeks' Mandarin Training was given to 35 staffs from
AiFM, Suara Malaysia, TV News and Radio News.
In Malaysia, the Chinese language does not align fully
with the international standard; and in view of the rising
importance of China on the global stage, and more and
more countries are adopting the Chinese Putonghua Standard,
RTM is working with SJTU-GHCC in a series of training
programs for its broadcasters. The series was started
in 2007 August, and there is one more training program
will take place in 2008, July by Professor Dr Wang Ji
Ping from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
The Certificate Presentation Ceremony of this training
was held on 16 May 2008 at Dewan Cendiakiawan, IPTAR.
Dato' Haji Abdul Rahman Hamid, Director General of Department
of Broadcasting, presented the certificates to 35 students.

January 5, 2008, Teachers and staff
of GHCC met for an afternoon tea at the elegant Carcosa
Sri Negara in Kuala Lumpur. GHCC completes a busy year
registering a total of 188 individual students and several
group trainings of over 300 students. GHCC management
treated staff and teachers to a quiet afternoon tea at
the prestigious Carcosa Sri Negara drawing room to rest
and relax. Carcosa Sri Negara was the former residence
of the British High Commissioner in Malaya and was used
as the command center for the British Empire in Southeast
Asia. The beautiful Anglo-style buildings is located up
the serene hill clusters in the heart of Kuala Lumpur's
Lake Gardens. The GHCC team had a interesting and enjoyable
afternoon.

January 2008, A group of 30 Primary
School Chinese Teachers at SJKC Yak Chee in Puchong area
in Kuala Lumpur started a special 20 hours Program on
Chinese Phonetics with our senior teacher Liu Shan. The
teachers will learn correct pronouncation, understand
Chinese tones, and how to make the transition between
Huayu to Puthonghua.

December 20, 2007, UNICO Holdings Education
Fund allocated RM1million in scholarship support to the
SJTU Bachelor of Hanyu Teaching Program in a MOU signing
ceremony between SJTU-GHCC and Unico Education Fund. UNICO
Education Fund is represented by its Chairman Tan Sri
Lim Guan Teik and committee members Datuk Tok Seng Chai,
Mr Mew Jin Seng and Secretary Loh Hang Kwong. This scholarship
fund will help Malaysian students to study for a 3 to
4 year Bachelor Degree program at Shanghai Jiao tong University

December 19, 2007, PutraJaya: Professor
Zhang Shengkun Council Chairman of SJTU-GHCC and Director
Foong Wai Fong had discussion with the leadership of UNITAR
in Kuala Lumpur discussing a collaboration to bring degree
program on Hanyu Teaching to UNITAR Malaysia. UNITAR President/CEO
Prof Datuk Dr. Mohd. Zabid Abdul Rahid, Encik Saroni Judi,
Prof Dato dr. Mohamed Mahyuddin Mohamed Dahan, Deputy
President (Academic and Student Affairs) and the SJTU-GHCC
delegation had a fruitful meeting in Marriot Hotel, Putrajaya.
Prof Zhang earlier called on the Chairman of Tun Abdul

December 20, 2007, Kuala Lumpur: SJTU-GHCC
concludes an MOU with UniKL in Kuala Lumpur to bring Hanyu
education to its main campus in the city center. UniKL
is a member of the MARA group of universities specializing
in engineering studies. SJTU-GHCC will open with a UniKL-Global
Hanyu Center to provide short course on Mandarin proficiency
to UniKL students, MARA staff members, executives from
the KL downtown area. Classes are expected to begin in
Q1 of 2008. Prof Dato Dr Abdul Hakim Juri, President/CEO
of UniKL signs with the MOU with Director Foong Wai Fong,
while Prof Dr Zhang Shengkun witnessed the MOU. Prof Dr
Abdul Talib Othman, Dr Sulaiman Sajilan, Dr Raja Aziz
Raja Maarof, Ms Lydia Fiza, Prof Wang Jipeng and Madam
Xu Belei attended the ceremony.

December 10, 2007, Beijing: Director
Foong Wai Fong represented SJTU-GHCC at the annual Confucius
Institute Conference and Exhibition in Beijing recently.
The conference brought together over 100 Confucius Institute
from around the world to exchange experience on how to
effectively bring Hanyu education to the world. Ms Foong
gave an interview to Shantong Satellite Television on
the Malaysian Experience. SJTU-GHCC put up an exhibition
of its experience and results for the year 2006 &
7 at the conference.

November 18, 2007, Shanghai & Suzhou:
Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia Datuk Mustapa
Mohamed visited GHCC’s parent Global EduTech Management
Group (GEM) and its Campus at Dushu Lake Higher Education
Park in Suzhou. The honorable minister planted a tree
dedicated to HKU SPACE Global College, a sister college
of the Global Hanyu & Culture Center. Datuk Mustapa
also spoke to Malaysian students and teachers in Suzhou.
In the Higher Minister’s delegation are top leaders
from the Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysian universities.
The distinguished delegation includes Dr Mohamed Nasser
Mohamed Noor, Director, Marketing and International Education
Division, Dr Ramli Bin Hassan, Under Secretary, Ministry
of Higher Education, Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dato’
Dr Syed Jalaludin Syed Salim, Chairman of Bank Kerjasama
Rakyat Malaysia and Chairman of Taylor’s College,
Datuk Loy Teik Ngan, President of Taylor’s College,

November 12, 2007, Yangsuo: Students
at the Zhang YiMou School of Art gave a private performance
to Director Foong of GHCC during her recent visit to Yangsuo.
These students are recruited from the poorest regions
in China, such as Kwangsi, Henan and Guizhou. These regions
are also known for the vocal abilities of the minority
groups. From a very young age, these children were recruited
into a boarding school in Yangsuo to be trained as performers
for the performance Impressions Liu Sanjie. The school
takes its name from the famous Chinese director Zhang
YiMou, known for many award winning films. This is the
only Zhang Yi Mou School of Art in China.

18 wonderful kids of 4 to 6 years old attended a 10
day Holiday camp conducted by Wei Wei and Ou Laoshi of
Global Hanyu and Peter n Jane Kindergarten at the new
Mutiara Damansara Kindergarten. The kids went through
a total of 60 hours of Hanyu immersion program, they were
exposed to several songs, dance and handicrafts as well
as learnt 24 characters and 7 situational conversation.
It is amazing how the children of this age could be so
patient and attended the camp with enthusiasm. Parents
and teachers celebrated the completion with a presentaiton
by the children and an exhibition of their caligraphy
work.

Executive Director Ms Foong Wai Fong hosted former Dutch
Prime Minister H E Rudd Lubbers in an event on 4th Generation
Port in Shanghai jointly with a member of the GEM Group,
the First Light Institute of Finance and Economics. The
former Dutch Prime Minister is a special guest to the
20th Anniversary Celebration of the Rotterdam
Commercial Representative Office (RCRO) in Shanghai. Mr
Lubber took time off his busy schedule to spend time with
the GEM Group's First Light Insitute of Finance and Economics
and spoke to key representatives from the port and harbour
sector in the Yangtze River Delta. The theme of the discussion
centered on sustainability and Rottterdam's positioning
to transform to a green port. Mr Lubbers pointed out that
those companies who put sustainability high on the agenda
are also very profitable companies and that global warming
is no longer an issue to be debated, rather companies,
cities and governemnts need to develop a response to the
threats from global warming. H E Lubbers has been a pioneer
in the field of Sustainability and had tremendous experience
dealing with energy issues. While serving as Holland's
prime minister, he presided over the first Oil Crisis
and had never stop in exploring on energy issues after
he left office. He currently heads the Institute of New
Energy in Holland.

November 8-9, 2007, Director of Global
Hanyu & Culture Center FOONG WAI FONG participated
at the Strategic Dialogue of the China-ASEAN Cultural
Industry Forum in Nanning, China. Ms Foong was a member
of a 4 member expert panel to dialgoue on the concepts,
resources, strategy for coopration between ASEAN and China
Culutral Industry.
This annual forum is jointly organized by the departmnet
for Cultural Industry of the Ministry of Culture, P.R.China,
Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Ministry
of Culture, P.R China and Cultural Department of Guangxi
Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. Some 400 participants
of Government leaders, industry, academic and business
leaders attended the 2-day forum which was held in Nanning,
the capital of Guangxi Province.
Ms Foong joined experts at the outstanding Live-Cultural
Performance in Yangsuo, Guilin entitled
Impressions LiuShajie. Impressions Liu Shajie is the most
successful Live performance set in an outdoor stage on
the Lijiang River, where 600 farmeres and fishermen performed
ethnic dances and folk songs, without any sound amplification,
over a 1.8 km stretch of the most beautiful segment of
the Lijiang River, and a backdrop of the most scenic mountains
in Guilin. Impressions Liu Shajie is a recommended MUST
SEE for anyone visiting this part of China for its artistic
impact and innovation. For students of design and cultural
industries, this is to date the most successful project
which in 4 years has grown from an audience size of 300,000
to 500,000, to 700,000 and expected to top 1,000,000 in
2007. The show brings in a gross revenue from ticket sales
of RMB150million in 2007.

July - August, Some 35 Chinese broadcasters
and news editors of Malaysia's Radio(Ai FM) and Televison
Station(RTM 2) started a six weeks training with our Professors
in Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur during the summer period
of July and August.
This training was specially commissioned by the Malaysian
Government for the continuing education enhancement of
the broadcasters and news editors.
Two Associate Professors from Shanghai Jiaotong University
were in-charge of this training, they have group sessions
as well as one-to-one sessions with the professors.

July 8-4, 2007, 130 EMBA and Executives
from around the world joined the Close up on the New China
Program. The program is jointly organized by Global Hanyu
and the Mendoza School of Business of the University of
Notre Dame. The group will use northern China, starting
with Shanghai as their travelling classroom to understand
the laetest developments in China. This program will cover
Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Kunshan, Zhouzhuang, Beijing and
Tianjin. The highlights of the trip include a dinner party
on board the Huangpu River Cruise, travelling to Wuxi
on China's high speed railway. In Beijing, the Group would
visit Lenovo and the 300+ years old Chinese Traditional
medical shop Tongrentang.

May 13-20, 2007, A Group of 30 Participants
from Barry University, USA joined the Close Up On The
New China program, a collaboration between The GEM Group
and the Graduate School of Business of Barry University.
This Group photo was taken at the Humble Administrator's
Garden in Suzhou, where participants tried on a special
souvenir T-Shirt (Limited Edition) that bears the slogan
of paramount leader Deng Xiao Peng. The Group will be
in the Yangtze River delta for 8 days, while some will
do an extension to Beijing.  |

April 12, 2007, A group of students
from Thailand's Kasetsart University Laboratory School
began their Learn Hanyu & Chinese Culture Summer Camp

Accompanied by teachers and staff, and led by the School
Principal, these students will begin a 42 program in the
Yangtze River where they will undergone a comprehensive
program in Hanyu and Chinese Learning. Students will attend
intensive Language and cutlure classes during the week,
and make field trips to famous cultural and landscape
sites in the Yangtse River delta during the weekends.
Among the sites they will be visiting include Hendian,
the film city in Hangzou, Shanghai and many other famous
sites around Suzhou and Shanghai. At the end of the program,
students would have been exposed to a total of 110 hours
of Hanyu and Culture learning.

March 21, 2007, Director Foong Wai
Fong delivered the closing keynote address at the China
Fashion Forum in Beijing with the theme “A New Era
for Chinese Fashion: Strategy Ahead.” The China
Fashion Forum is an industrial forum for China’s
fashion and clothing industry. The 2007 annual meeting
is the 12th in its history, this annual get-together brings
together designers, entrepreneurs and investors to the
forum to discuss issues and strategy related to the development
of the industry. China has the world’s largest textile
industry, exporting some 70% of global supply. However
the clothing and textile industry in China is among industries

March 5, 2007, 77 participants from
the Mendoza School of Business of the University of Notre
Dame USA started their 10 days journey on a program that
gives them a Close Up On The New China. Participants were
presented with a special limited edition T-Shirt that
bears a design of the paramount leader Deng Xiao Peng's
slogan " To get rich is glorious." Participants
wear the T-Shirt to pose for a group photo. This special
T-Shirt is made to commemorate the significance of this
shift in thought that started the process of reform and
opening in China.

December 22, 2006, Council Chairman
Prof Dr Zhang Shengkun and delegation visited Penang and
was received by Chairman of The GEM Group, Dato PY Lai
and Director Goh Nai Kui, who is also deputy Chairman
of the Malaysian-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
While in Penang Prof Zhang's delegation visited Kolej
Disted Stamford (KDS) and received a briefing from its
Vice President Dr W K Ko and his team. The delegation
also visited Dr Sun Yat Sen's Memorial and the Cheong
Fatt Chee Mansion, a UNESCO heritage award conservation
project on the island. The group left with very good impressions
of Penang.
SJTU-GHCC will explore with Kolej Disted Stamford to open
a Global Hanyu Center in Penang to help increase the capabilities
of teaching Hanyu (Standard Putonghua) in Penang.

December 21, 2006, Prof Zhang Shengkun,
Council Chairman of SJTU-GHCC led a delegation to visit
the leadership of KUSTEM of Terengganu. Kustem is the
leading higher education in Terengganu. This visit is
the official visit of the leadership of SJTU-GHCC to the
north eastern Islamic state of Peninsula Malaysia. Among
the many things discussed at the meeting included SJTU-GHCC
to help Kustem build up its standard mandarin teaching
capabilities and to arrange for Malaysian students to
carry out short term study visits in China.

Sai attended dinner meeting with members of the Chinese
community in Kuala Terengganu. In a cordial and friendly
atmosphere, Prof Zhang and Prof Wang Jiping talked about

December 19, 2006, Council Chairman
Prof Zhang Shengkun and Vice Chairman Dato PY Lai launched
the Confucius Institute at the Global Hanyu & Culture
Center in Kuala Lumpur. This officially launches the cooperation
between the office of Chinese Language Council International
of The People's Republic of China (Hanban) , Shanghai
Jiaotong University and Global Hanyu & Culture College,
a member of the GEM Group. The Confucius Institute is
a worldwide network of Chinese language and culture promotion
centers set up under the auspices of Hanban. SJTU- GHCC
KL joins the rest of the 127 Confucius Institute around
the world in the promotion of Chinese language and culture.

Oct 29 - Nov 8, 2006,
SJTU-GHCC organized the Chinese Film Festival with the
theme Classics from the last 100 Years of Chinese Cinema.
The 10 day festival in Malaysia was presented by the
Embassy of the People's Republic of China with the support
of the Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage, Malaysia.
Supported by key community organizations and the Malaysia
China Friendship Association, the event was organized
to commemorate the 15th anniversary of China-Asean dialogue
partnership. Some 20,000 people turned out at 20 screening
centers located throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Malaysia
and Chinese media gave the event substantial coverage.

in partnership with MintaMaju-Global Hanyu Center, 20
SJTU-GHCC TEACHERS provided language training for 698
cadet officers of the Royal Malaysian Police at the
Pulapol Training Center in Bahao, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.
These cadet officers went through a total of 36 hours
of basic Hanyu training which helped them master basic
Hanyu which will be useful for them when dealing with
Chinese visitors and other Chinese Malaysians.

Sept 18, 2006,
Teacher Yan Wanling gave a trial class to 20 senior
officers of the Royal Malaysian Police at GEM Beach
Resort, Kuala Trengganu. At the invitation of the Police
Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Yan Laoshi travelled to
Kuala Trengganu together with Director W F Foong and
Consultant Zainol to give 25 senior police officers
in charge of various states a 2 hour experience into
the Chinese language and culture. Malaysia has some
80,000 members of the police force, and the government
has included Hanyu as one of the compulsory language
for the police force.

Putonghua Classes for students at KPTM, sponsored by
the GHCC Foundation. A total of 120 students from the
Kolej Polytech MARA undergone a month-long intensive
training on Putonghua by four teachers from our Center.

program some 80% of the students who attended have committed
to continue their studies.
