Introduction
For the first time, perhaps the largest
Chinese Film Festival will be held from Oct 29-Nov 7 2006
at 20 screening centers in 9 regions and states in Malaysia.
Some 64 Chinese movies from the last 100 years will be screened
for the Malaysian public to enjoy, a third of these movies
will have English subtitles.
The Festival is presented by the Embassy of the People’s
Republic of China in Malaysia with the support of the Ministry
of Culture, Art and Heritage. Shanghai Jiaotong University-Global
Hanyu & Culture Center, FINAS and the Malaysia-China
Friendship Association are organizers of the event. The
Film Festival is sponsored by The Shanghai Jiao Tong University-Global
Hanyu & Culture Center. The event celebrates the 15th
Anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN-China dialogue
partnership.
